Bingo Reminder Notice

Bingo Team Members & Team Communication

To make the Bingo operation work smoothly, we want four (4) volunteers on duty at all events. The Team Leader for your team is responsible to the team composition and making sure all workers show up to work or have a substitute worker in their place. The Team Leader will give you a courtesy call or e-mail early in the week reminding you that you are scheduled to work.

However, you should not use this reminder as the only source to know when you are scheduled to work. Keep the Schedule and Worker Listing on your refrigerator or in the kitchen for easy reference and as a reminder.

Instructions on the bottom of the schedule are provided to show how to “swap” with other volunteers when you cannot be available to work. Let your Team Leader know what you are doing. A Volunteer Worker List by Day is provided for your use with their phone numbers and is also here on the Council’s web site.

Please report for work on time. If you work on Friday, report to work at 10:10 PM. If you work Sunday or Monday, report to work at 6:10 PM. This gives you 10 minutes for preparation and set up, and to be ready when we “open” the Cashier’s Window and start selling “Pull Tab” games.

Fraternally,

Stephen Rohrbough, Bingo Manager

Bingo Volunteer Tasks

Primary tasks include:

1. Selling Instant Event Tabs. We sell 4-8 boxes per session. Selling Pull Tabs gets hectic at times. Some Players get impatient. You will be assigned to an area of the floor to start selling Pull Tabs. Once you make the round of your area, you will have to look for play back "winners" and collect the 5% prize fee (5 cents per $1). Most play back "winners" will be traded for more tabs.

a. When you sell out your tabs, check with a staff worker at the Tab Window and buy more tabs to sell until the box is sold out, or buy from other Knights when you are sold out.

b. When all tabs in a box have been sold, you will reconcile your transactions at the TAB Window. A staff worker (Marie Rohrbough normally) will check you in. When all volunteers are checked in, you will be given new tabs to sell and start a new box.

2. Picking Up Bingos. As you work, you will need to pick up Bingos (Bingo and Pull Tab winners) when they are "called." Place a flag to show the player who has the Bingo or the Pull Tab winner.

a. To verify a Bingo, use the "5-digit" number found in the "free" space in the center of the Bingo. Please, call this number aloud to the "Caller". The "Caller" will key in the number and the Bingo will be verified by the Bingo Computer and shown on the Video Monitors. Then, fold the bingo paper and place it on the Board next to the Caller. This allows the players to check bingo if they so desire.

b. To verify a Pull Tab winner.

i. If the Pull Tab is a Bingo style card, show it to another Player at another table and have the Player call the numbers to the Caller. Then, take the card back to the winner (Player). A staff worker will make the payout.

ii. If the Pull Tab is a single number, show it to another player at another table to verify it. Then, return the card to the Player. A staff worker will make the payout.

3. Cleaning tables. Clean tables when time permits being careful not to pick up bingo paper that is being sold for the next game to be played. Do not throw away food or other items owned by the player.

4. Clean off all Tables at end of bingo session. At the end of the session, all workers will help clean tables and pick up trash from all trash containers. Trash bags will be taken to the dumpster outside behind the Hall. When done, everyone is ready to depart the Hall.

Have fun and keep a smile on your face. Be courteous and alert. Watch for raised hands from player and provide the best service possible.

The Bingo Committee and the Council appreciates your time and your work.
